Balancing family and ministry

“In the past two years the demands of ministry caught up to us, and we could feel the effects in our home. My husband and I are co-leaders of a church, and we both endured physical problems related to the stress we were feeling. In addition, our teenage son was acting up, too. In counseling, we had the opportunity to tell our story and be heard, and this was so enlightening and helpful. I learned ways in which we could feel less stressed and worn out, and we learned together how to balance our family and ministry life. Our counselor was great; she suggested goals for us to work on before we left, so it feels like the counseling is still going on.”
