Schedules

1. What does a typical day look like?

Generally you can expect 2 hours of seminar each day, 1 hour of group counseling a day, and one personal counseling session each day (“personal” meaning individual, marital, or family, or some combination thereof). Additionally we recommend watching a 45-minute psychoeducational video together most days in the late afternoon, complete with a discussion time. Generally you will spend the morning in seminars, the afternoon in counseling, and have the evenings free.

2. What about weekends?

Weekends are kept free for you to spend some personal time on whatever you may need: processing what you are working through, worship, journaling, visiting friends, sight-seeing, etc. What we very much do NOT want you to do on weekends would be preaching/teaching in a church or in some other way “doing ministry” instead of being ministered to.

3. What attractions does the local area have?

The following sites will help you find out some of the local activities in the local area.

4. When does the Renewal and Growth Sabbatical begin and when does it end — What are the arrival and departure times?

Unless we need to work around a holiday, we usually have a time of orientation on Monday afternoon and then begin the program Tuesday morning. We end around noon or 1:00 on Friday of the last week. You should plan to arrive between 12:00 and 3:00 (2:00 for latest airport arrival time) on Monday of the first week (unless there is a holdiay), and you will need to vacate your cottage by noon on the final day for housekeeping purposes. If you are flying out, please book a flight no earlier than 2:00 on the last day of the program.
