Accommodations

Our guests stay in individual 2- and 3-bedroom cottages that are located near the retreat center, yet are optimal for private interaction and personal reflection. The cottages are fully furnished, with all linens and towels provided. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available a short walk away.  Each cottage is equipped with a full kitchen; guests purchase their own groceries and prepare meals in their cottages, eating at their own schedule.  As the emotional bond between our guests deepens, evening meals are occasionally eaten together in a sense of Christian community; however, participation is optional.

The cottages do not come equipped with televisions, telephones, or internet access, although the counseling center does have both a public telephone and wireless internet.  While you are at Alongside, we urge you to keep your telephone and e-mail contacts to a minimum as a part of the retreat and renewal process.  

Because we desire to offer holistic care to our guests, each retreat participant is also given access to the local YMCA during their stay with us.  We also own a number of bicycles that are available for our guests, and our guests often enjoy leisurely walks in the beautiful Gull Lake setting.
