Mike Van Kampen, M.Div.

Director of Administration and Ministry Development

Mike grew up in West Michigan, attended several Michigan universities, and worked for over a decade as an engineer and department leader in a manufacturing company. In his early 30’s, he felt God’s call into full-time vocational Christian service and enrolled in seminary. After graduation and ordination, Mike served as a Senior Pastor for nearly 10 years. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Western Theological Seminary in Holland, Michigan, and is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry degree from Western as well. Mike is a trained facilitator for Natural Church Development, a program for evaluating church effectiveness, and has worked with both pastors and churches in promoting healthy and fruitful ministry. Mike has a passion for helping churches and their leaders realize their full potential in Christ. Mike and his wife Deb have three children. Mike serves as the Director of Administration and Ministry Development at Alongside along with offering pastoral counseling in addition to the counseling provided by our licensed counselors.
